ETC is excited to invite you to audition for our annual one act play production! This year, all of our plays were authored by Jay D. Hanagan and all take place at a restaurant, "Chez Wallington."

Auditions will be January 13 & 14, 2020 at Downtown United Presbyterian Church, 121 N. Fitzhugh St, Rochester 14614. No advance preparation necessary; please plan to arrive at 6PM to fill out paperwork and review the sides prior to auditioning. ETC does not share copies of scripts in advance. Auditions will begin promptly at 6:30PM. Performances will be April 2, 3 and 4 @ 7:30PM and April 5 @ 1:00PM at MuCCC, 142 Atlantic Ave, Rochester 14607

Directed by Debbie Tompkins (all roles open to all ages): "A Calamari Out of Water" Characters: 2 couples (Robin and Chuck; Meg and Gil), 1 server Plot: Robin and Meg have been waiting forever to get reservations at Chez Wallington. When they finally get there, Chuck and Gil have a very different plan. Will they enjoy their evening out together or will their plot be foiled?

"An Act of Kindness" Characters: 1 man-Darin; 2 women: Molly (hostess); Yolanda (assistant manager) Plot: While getting ready for a busy evening at Chez Wallington, Molly meets Darin, who is down on his luck. Can Molly's act of kindness be a light in his darkness?

Directed by Paul Scheib: "Just Say It Already" Characters: Molly-the Hostess; Yolanda-Assistant Manager; Seymour-the husband; Rude Patron- themselves Plot: The Hostess of Chez Wallington, Molly, is waiting rather impatiently for her husband, Seymour, to say the 3 words she has wanted for hear for a long time, "I love you."

"Soldiers' Hearts" Characters: Molly-the Hostess; Yolanda-Assistant Manager; Lance-the Soldier; Gwen-the Other Soldier

"Heart of Gold" Characters: Helena-Escort; Barry-Helena's date Plot: A reunion at Chez Wallington brings two old lovers back together again.

Directed by Amanda Lobaugh: "Speed Date" Characters: Mildred-Speed dater of the female persuasion (20ish-50ish); Giacomo-Speed dater of the clown persuasion (20ish-50ish) NOTES: Giacomo must wear full clown make up/costume - being handy w/clown tricks would be nice - this is a mute role. The character of Mildred must be able to be in both Speed Date and Speed Date 2 Plot: It's a speed date - what could possibly go wrong?

"Speed Date 2: Support Hose" Characters: Mildred-Speed dater of the female persuasion (20ish-50ish); Maurice/Monique-Speed dater of the sock-puppet persuasion (any age) NOTES: Maurice/Monique must be able to sit under a table for the entire one act, so flexibility a must - French accent would be nice - and it doesn't have to be great either. The character of Mildred must be able to be in both Speed Date and Speed Date 2 Plot: It's a speed date - what could possibly go wrong?

Directed by Al Young: "Critical Mass" Characters: Harlene DeCryer-Food critic, ex of Chef Boiardeux; Chef Boiardeux-Head chef at Chez Wallington, ex of Harlene; Mrs. Greene-Patron at Chez Wallington for their anniversary dinner; Mr. Greene-Patron at Chez Wallington for their anniversary dinner. NOTE: All characters may be played by any person, and can be any age range. The important factor is how the couples work together. Plot: Mr. and Mrs. Greene are out for their anniversary dinner and get a special visit from the Chef to commemorate the event. Then things get interesting.
